Weven Design is the newest (April 2021) member of PALANTA’s rental realm. This Amsterdam based, woman-owned company creates bags from deadstock fabrics that will catch every eye on the streets. With bold colours and design choices, founders Naz and Mai, are here to brighten your day and your outfit!

Design
Bright colours, patterns, textures, knots and ruffles have inspired Weven’s design choices that make their bags outstanding. All bags are made from either recycled material or deadstock and vegan fabrics that are sourced as locally as possible. By doing so, unwanted fabrics are turned into quality bags, which means that each bag is a limited edition!
Sustainability
Next the sustainable design choices, Weven Design also focuses on reducing their ecological footprint on all aspects of the business from the smallest steps to the biggest ones. That is why the packaging they use is biodegradable and recyclable. The tissue paper used for shipping is printed with vegan soy ink, the tags and stickers are responsibly sourced and made from agricultural waste in the Netherlands. Small steps make a big difference when it comes to waste.
Makers Unite
The production of the bags is done in Amsterdam in partnership with Makers Unite, a textile oriented agency that hires people with refugee backgrounds and helps them settle in the Dutch working place. Makers Unit produces sustainable products and merchandise in collaboration with companies who would like to increase their social and environmental impact. Their mission is to support newcomers with access to the job market through collaborative design and the co-creation of sustainable products, in the process of shifting narratives around migration.
Makers Unite is an organisation whose values match perfectly with that of Weven Design. Both companies work with the philosophy of creating a positive impact both socially and environmentally, they are driven by their core values of creating a fairer world, making conscious and sustainable choices.
